Erectile dysfunction has ceased to be the dreaded disease it was considered to be earlier. It is not as if the effects of the disease have diminished nor have they become less venomous, it is only that today there are effective ED cures available in the market. Earlier only elementary attempts were made by people at achieving some kind of control over the disease. Through the natural and herbal methods some kind of success was achieved in some cases of ED. But these methods could not be taken as the sure shot ED cures because they failed in several other ED cases.
Similarly, even the oral ED drugs that have created such waves in the medical world cannot be taken as the ultimate answer to erectile dysfunction. No doubt they are far better and much effective than the other attempted ED medications, but these cures are also not the optimum. The oral ED pills also have some kind of limitations and side effects.

Today when a man approaches a doctor for the cure of his impotence or technically speaking erectile dysfunction, he first gives the doctor what is medically known as the history of the present illness. After the complete diagnosis the doctor gives the patient the treatment that he thinks is the best for him. One very important step that the doctor has to take while treating his ED patient is to make the patient feel comfortable; there should be no inhibitions on the part of the patient while he is interacting with the doctor. It is up to the doctor to make his patient open up and develop confidence and trust so that the patient can fully rely on him for the treatment. These steps are particularly important in treating a disease like erectile dysfunction. No body is unknown to the fact that ED is such a disease that has a number of issues attached with it that are considered as an embarrassment by the patient. There are many men who are quite ashamed of going to the physician with his problem of ED. In addition to this problem the ED cures that were invented only a few years back are comparatively quite new. A lot of research work is still going on the ED pills and also other probable ED treatments. Therefore it is possible that a patient might not get results for his ED after taking a particular prescribed ED medication. ED treatments are still under the study phase. Thus it is quite possible that the doctor might not be able to give the perfect cure in the first go. But this should not discourage the patient from going to his doctor again and again and again until the ailment is cured. Statistics show that many of the ED cases remain untreated after the patients fail to achieve results after their first visit to the doctor. They feel that their ED is permanent and incurable, which are all false assumptions. The doctors are there for the assistance of the patients. Thus there should be no holding back on the part of the patients also.

For example if a particular person decides to buy cialis after getting a Cialis prescription from his doctor and the drug fails to eradicate his problem, he should revisit the doctor for an alternative ED cure or maybe a change in cialis dosage. Just because cialis is the current best seller doesn’t mean it will suit one and all. Sometimes the drug that fails to suit the majority might be perfect for a particular patient. With the introduction of online pharmacies, people don’t feel like going to the doctor with their ailments. They prefer to cure it online. But please note that such an act can prove fatal your health. In spite of the fact that Cialis pill is popular and that sometimes cheap cialis is available online, doesn’t mean that you will order cialis on your own. Sometimes it becomes necessary to visit a doctor in person. Especially for the ailments like ED!

Fish oil supplements have certainly been getting a lot of buzz lately. &nbspAnd with good reason – they provide a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids. These essential fatty acids have been found to reduce the risk of heart disease, improve the functioning of the eyes and brain, keep a healthy immune system, and even help relieve your diabetes symptoms. &nbspOily fish, such as mackerel and salmon have been found to be one of the best natural sources of these essential fatty acids, however there is a lot of controversy surrounding the quality of the fish we buy today.

Taking a fish oil supplement is a great way to get Omega 3 acids, especially if you are not a big fish eater or worry about how much you are taking. &nbspHowever, not all fish oil supplements are the same, some can even be dangerous. &nbspThat’s why it’s important to know how to choose best quality supplement.
What To Look For In Your Fish Oil Supplement

The first thing you want to look for in a quality fish oil is the active ingredients it contains. &nbspThere are three types of Omega 3 fatty acids. The first two, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexanoic acid), are both found in cold-water fish, such as salmon, tuna and mackerel. The third type of Omega 3, called ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), is found in flaxseed oils, dark green leafy vegetables, and some vegetable oils. The Omega 3’s in flaxseed oil and other plant oils do not contain DHA and EPA, although they contain the precursor to DHA and EPA in the form of alpha linolenic acid (ALA).

Fish oils actually contain two types of omega 3 fatty acids: EPA and DHA. &nbspWhile they are both important nutrients, you should actually look for a supplement with higher concentrations of EPA. &nbspMost supplements give you more DHA, so you may have to do a lot of label searching. &nbspYou also want to look for other vitamins and nutrients, such as Vitamin A and Vitamin E, that are included in some fish oils and may be harmful in large doses or when used with certain medical conditions.

When researching your fish oil supplement, find out where the fish come from. Most quality supplements will tell you right on the label. &nbspMercury and other heavy metals that pollute fishes’ natural environment is a concern for most people. &nbspThese metals are hazardous and can be found in certain fish oil supplements. &nbspThat’s why it’s important to get a supplement that uses fish from pristine waters.

Sadly, just because the fish come from clean water doesn’t mean that you should assume it’s safe. &nbspFor a fish oil supplement to be free of dangerous chemicals, it should be molecularly distilled to remove any additional impurities. &nbspYou should also look for products that say they are pharmaceutical grade. &nbspA product that lists that it is pharmaceutical grade and molecularly distilled is much more likely to be free of any potentially harmful chemicals.

What Are the Side Effects of Fish Oil?

As with any supplement, you should consult your doctor before you start taking anything new. &nbspResearch has been done on side effects of fish oil supplements and in more than half of the studies, there were no side effects. &nbspThe most common side effect was gastrointestinal, such as diarrhea. This was reported in less than 7% of all fish oil studies. There were no reports of sudden death, life-threatening illness, handicaps or disabilities from taking fish oil supplements.

However, people with bleeding disorders or taking anti-coagulant medicine should consult their doctor first as the omega 3 fatty acids reduce the risk for blood clots and make your blood thinner.

Some people report having fishy burps or a fishy aftertaste. If you use pharmaceutical-grade fish oil capsules, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Why Should Omega 3 Fish Oil Be Part Of My Anti Aging Therapy?

The National Institutes of Health published a report stating that fish oil can help reduce deaths from heart disease. The FDA itself states research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may actually reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. &nbspThe latest government report cites the triglyceride-lowering effects of fish oil on reducing heart and blood vessel disorders. Fish oil supplements also protect the healthy blood flow in arteries.

Are you looking for tips on how to cure a stutter? Have you had enough of living life with a stuttering problem? These are two questions that I would have certainly answered with a yes when I was a bit younger. I was one of the unfortunate children who grew up with a stutter or as some people call it, a stammer. I really hated having this form of speech impediment and was constantly looking out for a cure to stuttering. Twelve years ago when I was aged twenty-two, after having lived with the stutter for eighteen years, I finally managed to eradicate the problem. Life is so much easier now, yes I do have problems however the fact that I have managed to overcome the stutter makes it quite deal with any issues that arise.
Various people tried to make me believe that there was not a cure for stuttering. I did listen to their thoughts but would never accept what they were telling me. There view point was very defeatist and negative. That may well be their character but certainly is not mine. I had to believe that one day I would be able to speak fluently without the fear of stuttering, without this dream life would not be worth living.

I am not one of those people who are looking for a miracle. I was well aware that fluency would take a lot of hard work and a long time. This was something I was willing to do, after all Rome was not built in a day.

If you have a stutter and are wondering whether there is a cure, ask yourself a few questions. Do you stutter when you are singing? Do you stutter when you are shouting? Do you stutter when you are talking to yourself? For the majority of people who have a stutter or stammer, the answer to these questions will have been no. They were for me and this at least gave me hope.

I now had to turn this and many other ideas that I had into a cure for stuttering. This was not easy, of course, however after around eleven months I managed to succeed.

At one time, undergoing a colon cleanse was not an easy venture as it was a complicated procedure. These days, thanks to product innovation the ability to design a capsule form colon cleansing product has been developed. These capsules are available in a number of health food shops and also are not as expensive as one would initially assume. This is quite eye opening as the product inexpensively delivers a variety of health benefits.
The purpose of a colon cleanse is to rid the body of collected waste and food material that has not been expelled from the colon. Keep in mind, this collected waste in the colon can do great harm to your health over time. In fact, it is not uncommon for undigested material in the colon to become toxic. This is why a reliable colon cleansing product can prove helpful. In fact, it might very well be paramount to one’s health.

Many people use a colon cleanse product as a weight loss aid. Keep in mind, while flushing the system will rid the body of impurities and unnecessary water it is not a method that will flush out fat. This is a common misconception many people have about the product. But, if you are looking to lose fat it certainly would not hurt to also take a colon cleanse product while dieting as it has a number of positive attributes that go hand in hand with dieting.

They are a variety of benefits to a colon cleanse and those who use such products have noticed a solid improvement in their health. Remember, the eradication of toxic substances from the colon would be significantly helpful to one’s health. This is why the products have proven wildly popular and continue to grow in popularity and will continue to grow as time progresses.

When we have a stomachache or are sick, we are often told we have a bug. It is true that there are”bugs” that live in our digestive systems. But there are good bugs and bad bugs.

First of all, bugs are living microorganisms. Within our bodies there must be a balance with those microorganisms to keep us healthy and feeling at our best. This is where Probiotics come in. Probiotics are the good bugs.
Scientifically, Probiotic bacterial cultures are intended to assist the body’s naturally occurring gut flora, ecology of microbes, to re-establish themselves. Doctors sometimes recommend them, and, more frequently, they are prescribed by nutritionists after a course of antibiotics, or as part of the treatment for gut related candidiasis. Claims are made that Probiotics strengthens the immune system to combat allergies, excess alcohol intake, stress, exposure to toxic substances, and other diseases.

When we take antibiotics, for instance, the good bugs that work well with our bodies decrease in number, an event that allows harmful competitors to thrive, to the detriment of our health.

Probiotics, which means “for life”, have been used for centuries as natural components in health-promoting foods. The original observation of the positive role played by certain bacteria was first introduced by Russian scientist and Nobel laureate Eli Metchnikoff, who in the beginning of the 20th century suggested that it would be possible to modify the gut flora and to replace harmful microbes by useful microbes. Metchnikoff, at that time a professor at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, produced the notion that the ageing process results from the activity of putrefactive (proteolytic) microbes producing toxic substances in the large bowel.

Proteolytic bacteria such as clostridia, which are part of the normal gut flora, produce toxic substances including phenols, indols and ammonia from the digestion of proteins. According to Metchnikoff these compounds were responsible for what he called “intestinal auto-intoxication”, which caused the physical changes associated with old age. It was at that time known that milk fermented with lactic-acid bacteria inhibits the growth of proteolytic bacteria because of the low pH produced by the fermentation of lactose.

Metchnikoff had also observed that certain rural populations in Europe, for example in Bulgaria and the Russian Steppes who lived largely on milk fermented by lactic-acid bacteria were exceptionally long lived. Based on these facts, Metchnikoff proposed that consumption of fermented milk would “seed” the intestine with harmless lactic-acid bacteria and decrease the intestinal pH and that this would suppress the growth of proteolytic bacteria. Metchnikoff himself introduced in his diet sour milk fermented with the bacteria he called “Bulgarian Bacillus” and found his health benefited. Friends in Paris soon followed his example and physicians began prescribing the sour milk diet for their patients.

The term “probiotics” was first introduced in 1965 by Lilly and Stillwell, when it was described as growth promoting factors produced by microorganisms (protozoa). In the 1960s the dairy industry began to promote fermented milk products containing Lactobacillus acidophilus. In subsequent decades other Lactobacillus species have been introduced including Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, and Lactobacillus johnsonii, because they are intestinal species with beneficial properties.

In most circumstances, people use Probiotics to prevent diarrhea caused by antibiotics. Antibiotics kill “good” (beneficial) bacteria along with the bacteria that cause illness. Taking probiotic supplements (as capsules, powder, or liquid extract) may help replace the lost beneficial bacteria and thus help prevent diarrhea.

A decrease in beneficial bacteria may also lead to development of other infections, such as vaginal yeast and urinary tract infections, and symptoms such as diarrhea from intestinal illnesses.

Because many of us don’t eat the foods that put the good bugs back in our bodies, a course of Probiotics can help put our system back on track. The best part is, you have nothing to lose.

Injuries are a daily part of high school sports. Star athletes expecting scholarships and a bright future know that all of that can change in a split second if they become injured in practice or play and have to sit out too many games. What many don’t realize is that returning to play too soon can cost them their lives.

Concussions don’t always mean losing consciousness. They often go unnoticed unreported, or ignored by players and coaches alike, putting players at risk for deadly second impact syndrome.
Second Impact Syndrome more likely in teens Second impact syndrome occurs when the brain sustains a second injury while the first injury is still healing. Neither injury has to be noticeably serious.

Teenagers are far more likely to experience second impact syndrome than adults when a second injury occurs.

Second impact syndrome can shut down the brain and breathing in as little as two to five minutes after injury. It can occur days or weeks after the original injury was sustained.

In second impact syndrome, the brain is suddenly unable to regulate blood flow, causing rapid swelling, herniation of the brain, and brainstem failure.

Why it happens
A recent article in the New York Times explained the problem as a combination of ignorance and intentional deception, fostered by football’s “gladiator culture.”

Many players don’t realize that they are in danger. They don’t take concussions seriously. Some simply refuse to sit it out. Competition is fierce. Perseverance and loyalty highly prized.

Parents and coaches are often part of the problem with unrealistic expectations blinding them to the very real danger of death or permanent disability, they push players to get back in the game and win.

Devastating realities
Over a million kids play high school football each year. About half of them sustain concussions. Most of those get back in the game before their injuries heal. Many of them sustain a second and even third injury. Some die on the field before help can arrive.

Athletic trainers report that only about five percent of players sustain a concussion each year, according to the New York Times report. When the players themselves were surveyed it was revealed that 50% had sustained one concussion and 35% experienced multiple concussions in one season.

When teenagers sustain brain injuries they can face a multitude of problems including:
· Behavioral problems
· Loss of short term memory
· Depression
· Learning disabilities
· Physical impairment
· Loss of concentration
· Substance abuse
· Unexplained anger and violence
· Anger and alienation
· Legal problems
· Suicide

For survivors, the scholarships they risked everything to win are lost. Some turn to drugs or suicide. Many wind up in prison. A few are so impaired that they have to live with their parents or in an institution for the rest of their lives. And, of course, some do not live to see the consequences.

There are eight common medications used to treat high blood pressure. While many people dealing with hypertension will possibly be prescribed a combination of a variety of these medications, the amount of medication needed depends greatly on the type and the level of severity of the illness.

While antihypertensive medicines are used to lower blood pressure to normal levels, medications should always be used in combination with a healthy lifestyle change. The main objectives of high blood pressure medications are to not only lower blood pressure but to minimize the side effects caused by some of the medicines.
Diuretics
Water pills are used to remove excess salt from the body. The increase in salt in a person’s body causes the blood vessels to retain more fluid than needed. The release of excess fluid in blood vessels, takes a strain off the vessels and arteries. Examples: Thalitone, Lasix, Esidrix, Lozol, Dyazide, and Maxzide.

Beta-Blockers
Beta-Blockers are used to reduce the amount of blood pressure flowing through the body, by slowing the heart rate down, it allows for an optimal flow of blood throughout the vessels.

Examples: Sectral, Tenormin, Coreg, Lopressor, Toprol, Corgard, Inderal and Blocadren.

ACE Inhibitors (Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors)
The hormone Angiotensin II can cause the blood vessels to narrow; ACE inhibitors stop that hormone from production.

Examples: Lotensin, Vasotec, Prinivil, Zestril, Accupril, Altace, and Mavik.

ARBs (Angiotensin II receptor blockers)
This medication defends blood vessels from narrowing affects from angiotensin II.

Examples: Atacand, Avapro, Cozaar, Benicar, Micardis, and Diovan.

CCBs (Calcium channel blockers)
Calcium entering from the body’s cells can cause blood vessels to constrict, CCB’s stop that from happening.

Examples: Norvasc, Cardizem, Cartia, Dilacor, Tiazac, Plendil, Cardene, Adalat, Procardia, Calan, Covera, Isoptin, and Verelan.

Alpha-Blockers
Alpha-Blockers are used to reduce nerve pressure to allow blood to pass in vessels more freely.

Examples: Cardura, Minipress, and Hytrin.

Centrally acting drugs
Centrally acting drugs work with a person’s brain chemistry to control nerve impulses that narrow the blood vessels.

Examples: Catapres and Methyldopa.

Direct vasodilators
Direct vasodilators perform by widening the blood vessels to allow more blood to circulate.

Examples: Apresoline and Loniten.

Recently on ABC World News Charlie Gibson did a story that kind of surprised me. He announced to his audience that Diabetes has become an epidemic in the U.S.-NO ****!!

I am just one little diabetic that started a website to share my experiences with others and share that knowledge and in the process learn more about this terrible disease. I have been calling it an epidemic for a year now. It is so obvious. C’mon ABC tell us something we don’t know.

Diabetes is a disease that affects 7% or 21 Million Americans and claims 240 million victims worldwide. Type 2 Diabetes is the biggest portion of those at 95 %. Another 14 million Americans have pre-diabetes where their blood sugars are elevated but below Diabetic levels.
Diabetes is a disorder of metabolism–the way our bodies use digested food for growth and energy. Most of the food we eat is broken down into glucose, the form of sugar in the blood. Glucose is the main source of fuel for the body.

For those who already have some risk factors such as a family history of it type 2 Diabetes is largely caused by elements in your lifestyle such as overeating and being overweight. Unless you have been hiding under a rock you already know that obesity in the U.S. is huge. GET THE CONNECTION? DUH!!

The story went on to tell us that the costs now in the U.S. are $116 billion for medical and an additional $58 billion in lost productivity due to absences from work. That’s a whopping $174 billion!! The U.S. alone spends $1 billion on diabetes research.

Whoa wait a minute-this news bulletin just in: DIABETES IS A WORLDWIDE EPIDEMIC.

In some countries, for example developing far eastern ones, Diabetes is growing much faster than it is in the U.S. largely due to western influences on diet. Folks all over are getting fat. Just got done ’skyping’ with a new friend in China who tells me 10% of the population has it. That’s worse than the U.S. at 7%.

I have this theory too that as we get more into the internet age we become more hooked on sitting on our butts surfing or working at our computers. This inactivity leads to diabetes as well. You want a story Charlie? Talk about that!

The ABC story went on to discuss how band surgery is becoming a preferred way to manage the problem. We don’t want to do the simple things like exercise and change our diet now do we? Let’s get some surgery. It is just another way to keep the economy going. Why change our lifestyle when we can have some surgery?

Exercise of 30 min a day 5-6 days a week and a weight loss of 10% are the commonly accepted ways to get control of Diabetes. Try it-it’s cheaper than surgery.

Your infertility specialist may recommend laparoscopy to diagnose and treat endometriosis. Laparoscopy is a relatively non-invasive procedure, especially in the diagnostic phase of your infertility treatment. It can be a lot more invasive, and can be considered a major surgery when it is used to treat endometriosis.
To perform a laparoscopic procedure, your doctor will make a small incision near your navel. Your abdomen will be filled with carbon dioxide to inflate it. This allows the doctor to then insert the laparoscope and inspect your reproductive organs and abdominal cavity. The inflation gives the doctor plenty of room to look around. Your body may be tilted back during the procedure so that your intestines and other organs will shift higher up into your body. This gives the surgeon a more clear view of your reproductive organs.

The laparoscope itself is like a tiny, long telescope. It projects a light into your body so that the surgeon can look around. Your doctor may need to make a second incision near your pubic bone to insert other surgical tools. Endometriosis may be quite visible, but sometimes it is not visible to the naked eye. Your surgeon may take biopsies of tissue from your body during the laparoscopic procedure. The tissues will be examined under a microscope to confirm or deny the presence of endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a condition that causes the endometrium, normally lining your uterus, to grow outside of the uterus and attach itself to surrounding structures and organs. Adhesions and scar tissue can form inside of your abdominal and pelvic regions, causing a lot of pain, discomfort and fertility problems. Endometriosis can be mild and may not be discovered until a laparoscopic procedure is performed. If endometriosis affects your ovaries or fallopian tubes, then it can keep eggs from passing through to your uterus for implantation. Endometriosis is a progressive condition and can get worse over time.

Symptoms of endometriosis include abnormally heavy bleeding during menstruation, extremely painful menstrual cramps that last for days, back pain, painful intercourse, urination or defecation. These symptoms can be very similar to other infections or disorders. Therefore, endometriosis may be overlooked until infertility is a concern.

If endometriosis is discovered, your infertility specialist can use laparoscopy as part of the surgical treatment. A pelvis afflicted by endometriosis can also include adhesions, cysts, scar tissue and endometrial implants. Your surgeon will attempt to remove endometrial implants, drain cysts, separate and loosen adhesions and scar tissue. Laser treatment may be used to cut away adhesions, scar tissue and cysts.

Laparoscopy used to treat endometriosis is considered a major surgical procedure, but because of the small incisions made and the state of the art techniques used, there is generally a fast recovery with minimal discomfort after the procedure. Talk to your doctor and discover if laparoscopy endometriosis treatment can help you be on your way to fertility.

Many couples face infertility. This is a very emotional obstacle to overcome. In addition to the mental strength that you’ll need to conjure, you will also need money. Some infertility treatments can be very expensive for most couples. Your intense desire to have children can make infertility treatment seem like more of a necessity than a desire in your life. Many couples who simply can’t afford the treatment that they need, will start to look elsewhere for financial help. This is where the question of insurance comes in.
Insurance coverage for couples seeking infertility treatment may be hard to come by. The first thing you need to do is contact your employer or insurance company for a copy of your insurance coverage contract. Some contracts will specifically exclude infertility treatment as covered by the policy. If not, then you may have a case to get your infertility treatment covered.

Sometimes, there will be a specific list of treatments not covered. Check to see if the actual diagnosis is excluded. Laparoscopic procedures and hysterosalpingograms can be considered diagnostic, especially if you are experiencing abdominal pain or heavy bleeding. If your insurance denies a claim for these procedures and your contract simply excludes infertility treatment, then you have a case to get the procedures covered. Keep in mind that insurance companies are only allowed to deny claims for things that are specifically excluded on the contract.

Meeting with an infertility specialist and getting the diagnostic procedures may be covered by your insurance without question. Once you have been informed of your possible causes of infertility, then a good infertility doctor will consider your insurance coverage when developing treatment recommendations. You can decide with the help of the specialist which routes to take. Do you want to go with an aggressive procedure that may cost you more up front, but can improve your chances of conceiving more quickly? Would you rather go for the cheapest options first and see if any of them work? Either way, it can be expensive and these decisions will ultimately be yours to make.

If you are denied coverage for a procedure or visit that you believe should be covered, then ask your insurance company for contractual proof in writing that the claim is justifiably not covered. If they claim that your infertility treatment or diagnosis is not medically necessary or that infertility is not an illness, then you can still fight it. Keep track of all conversations that you have with your insurance company. Communications should be in writing whenever possible. Many will try to slip through a loophole and deny coverage that you paid for. If it’s not specifically noted as a procedure that is not covered, then it often will be covered by your insurance.

Some states require insurance companies to cover infertility treatments, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). Keep in mind that there are many exclusions to these state mandates (such as self insured companies and having less than 50 company employees with medical insurance benefits), so check your state mandates to be sure that you know the extent of your insurance coverage. Some insurance companies will ask for documentation from your doctor that you have been infertile for one or two years before they will consider infertility treatment necessary, so make sure that you are working with your doctor early on. If you are running into walls when trying to get your infertility treatment covered, then contact an attorney familiar with insurance claims to help you come up with the best solution.
